Setup Payment Account
Setting Up a Payment Account for Drafters & Engineers with Stripe
Instructions to Setup Account
If you're a drafter or engineer, you want to get paid. That’s why setting up your Drafting Marketplace payment account through Stripe is one of the most important steps you’ll take when creating your profile.
To begin setting up your payment account, log in to your Drafting Marketplace account. Once you’re logged in, click the Profile button on the navigation on the left-hand side of your screen.
Once you’re on your profile page, scroll down to the third section titled “Payment Account.” From there, click the blue button that says “Create Account for Payment Account.” Once the button is clicked, a pop-up will show up on the screen.
Click the OK button in the bottom-right corner, and you’ll be taken to a secure page where you’ll set up your Stripe payment account.
SETTING UP YOUR LOGIN:
Here, you’ll have the option to use an existing Stripe account or create a new one. Since the software is integrated with Drafting Marketplace, the email you used to set up your Drafting Marketplace account will autofill in the Email field. If you’d like to use a different email, simply erase the autofill and enter an alternative email address.
Once you’ve entered an email address, click the Continue button. Stripe will prompt you to create a password for your account. Once you enter a password in the Password field, click the continue button.
VERIFICATION:
After clicking the Continue button, Stripe will ask you to enter your mobile number so it can send you a verification code via text message. Enter your phone number in the Mobile Number field. Click the Send Text button, and you’ll receive a text message from Stripe.
Next, Stripe will take you to a screen where you’ll need to enter the verification code sent to your mobile number in the previous step. Once you enter the six-digit code, Stripe will confirm that your account is secured and provide an emergency backup code you can download or copy. If your device is ever lost or stolen, you may use this code to access your Stripe account.
After downloading or copying your code and storing it in a safe spot, click the Next button.
ENTER BUSINESS DETAILS:
Now, it’s time to enter information about your business.
Stripe will provide you with a form where you'll need to enter your Registered business address. Here you’ll:
-
Choose the country in which your business is registered
-
Enter the address, city, state, and zip code
-
Choose the type of business
Once you’ve entered the correct information in the form, click Continue. Then, Stripe will ask you for some personal details, including:
-
Date of birth
-
Phone number
-
Last 4 digits of Social Security number
After filling out all of the fields with the correct information, click the Continue button. This will take you to the Professional details page.
ENTER PROFESSIONAL DETAILS:
On the Professional details page, you’ll be asked to select your industry from the dropdown menu. There are also fields to provide the following information:
-
Your website
-
Product description
After filling out these fields, click the Continue button.
ENTERING BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION:
Next, you’ll be prompted to select an account for payouts. Here, you’ll be asked to fill out the following fields:
-
Routing number
-
Account number
-
Confirm account number
Once the information for your bank account has been entered correctly, click Continue.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT INFORMATION:
From here, you’ll be taken to a screen labeled "Customer support details." The information that’s entered here helps customers recognize your business on receipts, invoices, and payment statements. The following fields must be filled out on this page:
-
Statement descriptor (this is the business a customer will see on their statements)
-
Shortened descriptor (this provides more specific details, such as the name of a service someone paid for)
-
Customer support phone number
-
Customer support address
Once all the fields are filled in, click the Continue button.
REVIEWING DETAILS:
After clicking Continue, you’ll be taken to a screen where you’ll review the details you’ve entered throughout the entire process, including the Professional Details, Support Details, Your Details, and Bank Account. You may edit any of these sections on this screen. If you’re satisfied with the information that’s entered, you may click Submit.
Once you click Submit, you’ll receive the following message:
Returning to Your Drafting Marketplace Profile
After reviewing your details and clicking the Submit button, you’ll be directed back to your Drafting Marketplace profile. Scroll back down to the Payment Account section, and you’ll see a message prompting you to log back into your account and go through a verification process. To do so, click the Login to your Payment Account button.
VERIFYING YOUR IDENTITY:
Once you log back into your Stripe account, you’ll be prompted to provide more information to verify your account. This step may vary for users. However, all users will be asked to verify their email address by clicking on a link that’s sent to the email address you used to sign up for your Stripe account.
Some other information that Stripe may ask you for to complete account verification includes:
-
Full social security number
-
A photo of a government-issued ID
Stripe will alert you if you are missing any important information and will prompt each user to enter the information that they need to verify your account.
Once your account is fully verified, you can log back into your Drafting Marketplace dashboard. And that’s it! Once you’re all set up, you’re ready to get some work done on Drafting Marketplace. Good luck!
Project Dashboard
Managing Projects Via Your Dashboard
Instructions to Manage Projects
Signing up for any new software can be intimidating at first. However, at Drafting Marketplace, we want your experience to be positive; that’s why we've put together a guide to help users learn the ins and outs of our platform. In this post, we’re going to walk you through the steps of managing projects via your Drafting Marketplace dashboard.
After registering on our platform, you’ll be taken to your main dashboard. You will find projects under the main dashboard navigation menu item on the left-hand side of the screen.
Once the dashboard menu item is clicked, users are taken to a screen with 4 tabs.
Drafter & Engineer Dashboard
The drafter & engineer dashboards will show the following tabs:
Open Projects: This tab displays all projects for which you have been accepted and are currently working on.
Bids: The bids tab shows projects for which you have placed bids and are awaiting contractor approval.
Bid Requests: Here’s where you’ll find requests from contractors who want you to bid on one of their posted projects.
Past Projects: The past projects tab features information about, well, your past projects!
Contractor Dashboard
The contractor’s dashboard will show these tabs:
Open Projects: This tab shows all projects that you have posted to the platform.
Receiving Bids: Here’s where you’ll find pending bids on your projects.
Past Projects: View completed projects that have submitted reviews.
Needs to be Posted: If you started posting a project and left it as a draft, the Needs to be Posted tab is where you can revisit a project and post it to the marketplace for bids.
While this may take some getting used to, we tried to make our platform as user-friendly as possible. After a few reps, you’re going to be a pro at navigating your projects through your dashboard.
Leaving a Review
How to Review a Drafter, Engineer, or Contractor
Instructions How to Review
Our team at Drafting Marketplace believes in accountability. That’s why we developed our review system so that all parties must review one another once a project is completed. The process for this is simple, which we’ll outline below.
HOW TO LEAVE A REVIEW
Both users in a project can leave a review in two places. The first place is within the Open Projects tab in your main dashboard.
LEAVING A REVIEW FROM THE OPEN PROJECTS TAB:
If your project is complete but no review has been left, it will still appear as an open project. To navigate to this section, simply click the Dashboard menu item in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of your dashboard. From there, click the Open Projects tab.
Scroll to the project you want to leave a review for and click the Leave a Review button.
Once you click the Leave a Review button, a form will pop up on the screen.
The form gives the user an option to rate out of 5 stars for each of the following:
-
Accuracy
-
Punctuality (Contractor Only)
-
Communication
-
Overall rating
Below the star ratings, users will find two text boxes: one labeled “comment,” which is a public comment that will appear on the profile of the user you’re rating, and one labeled “private comment,” which only the person being reviewed will see.
Once you’re done leaving a review, hit the Send button, and your review will be submitted. This will take you back to the Open Projects tab in your dashboard. If the user you reviewed has not yet reviewed your services, you’ll see a button that says “Awaiting Review” on your selected project.
However, once both parties have completed the review, the project will be successfully closed and moved over to the Past Projects tab on the main dashboard.
LEAVING A REVIEW FROM THE REVIEWS NAVIGATION MENU ITEM:
Another way to leave a review is to click the Reviews navigation menu item on the left-hand side of your dashboard. This takes you to the Reviews feature screen, split into two sections: the Needs Feedback section on the left and the Past Reviews section on the right.
The Needs Feedback section will display projects that you’ve completed but are still in need of review. If you’re ready to leave a review, simply click the Leave a Review button. From here, a review form will pop up. This is the same review form we mentioned earlier in this post, with the star ratings and the public and private comment text boxes. Once you’ve filled out your ratings and comments, click the Leave a Review button, and your review will be submitted.
Once both users submit their reviews, the review will appear in the Past Reviews section.
Users will notice that each Past Review entry includes a toggle switch. When this switch is toggled on, the title “Review Left Of Me” appears at the top of the review box. Here, the review left about your services appears.
When toggled off, the title “Review I Left” appears at the top of the review box. Here, you’ll be able to see the review you left for the person you worked with on the project.
BENEFITS OF LEAVING REVIEWS:
There are many benefits of leaving reviews on Drafting Marketplace. For one, these reviews hold each party accountable. Also, other contractors, engineers, and drafters can view reviews on profiles to see who they may or may not want to work with on a project.
At Drafting Marketplace, we understand the importance of public and private feedback, which is why we provide the option to leave public and private comments on our review forms. Public reviews appear on user profiles, while private reviews are for internal reference only. So, if you have something you think a user could improve but don’t want to air it publicly, you may leave it as a private comment in your review.

FINDING A PROJECT
Finding a project through our platform is easy and can be done in two ways.
1. Click the Find a Project button on the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.
2. Hovering over the Find a Project dropdown menu at the top of the screen, there’s the option to find a project.
Either of these methods will take users to the same Available Projects list.
The Available Projects list shows projects from contractors that are open to bid submissions. To view a project, simply click on the Bid Now button in the bottom right corner of a project. When a user clicks the Bid Now button, they’ll be brought to the project description page, where they’ll see more information about the project—such as the quote, special instructions, and files.
On the right-hand side of the project description page, users can bid on a project. Simply fill out this form with your bid estimate and projected completion date. Then either click the Place a Bid button to submit your bid, or click the Send Message button to message the contractor with a question about the project.
And that’s it! That’s how you find and bid on a project on Drafting Marketplace. It’s easy, it’s efficient, and it’s a great way to find reliable projects.
